Sofitel Adelaide - Luxury hotel - Gastronomy

Gastronomy

Sofitel Adelaide’s gastronomy experience is delivered by a team of passionate food and beverage professionals – from chefs and sommeliers to mixologists and patisseries.

Committed to working with regional growers and suppliers in South Australia, Sofitel strives to buy local for freshness and taste. Changing the menu seasonally helps support their quest to source the very best ingredients, ensuring superior flavour and quality for guests all year round.

It pays to know where to go for the best produce in season.

The Adelaide Hills is ideal for growing apples, pears, cherries and strawberries. The Riverland on the other hand is famous for its citrus, stone fruit and almonds. The Adelaide Plains – greenhouse producers – grow tomatoes, cucumbers and capsicums. Interestingly, South Australia’s premier potato and onion growers are located in multiple locations right across the state including in the Limestone Coast, Mallee, Riverland and Adelaide Plains. All items you will regularly find on our hotel menus when in season.

South Australia also has an international reputation for producing premium, sustainable seafood. Our pristine waters are home to some of the world’s most sought-after seafood including rock lobster, tuna, oysters and prawns. King George whiting, octopus and squid frequently appear on the hotel’s menus, to the delight of our seafood loving diners.

High quality South Australian fresh milk is available readily and is a key ingredient in a range of premium local dairy products used by Sofitel Adelaide. This includes high quality artisan cheese, yoghurt, cream plus ice cream and gelati.

Experience world-class dining at Sofitel’s own French-inspired restaurant, Garçon Bleu. Here, the menu features amazing South Australian produce and boasts a considered wine list reflecting the hotel’s proximity to some of the world’s most renowned wine regions – not least of all the Barossa Valley.

After you have enjoyed the modern spin on French cuisine at Garçon Bleu you may wish to try some of the city’s other leading restaurants, whether it’s a colourful meal in Chinatown or brunch at the Central Markets. Craving Italian? You’re in luck – Sunny’s Pizza Bar is right next door.

With fabulous restaurants at Sofitel’s doorstep, it’s worth asking our Guest Experience team to help guide you with a recommendation, or to help make a reservation at any one of the city’s most sought after dining destinations.
